VSoL Retained Earth
VSoL is a composite reinforced soil system using galvanised wire mesh to improve the shear and compressive strength of earth backfill.
Retained earth structures effectively transfer bearing stresses on transverse bars on the layered reinforcing mesh to the lonigtudinal bars therefore allowing loads that develop in the longitundinal direction to be resisted.
The VSoL system is very simple and economical using only three components, the reinforcing mesh, precast concrete facing panels and the backfill material. A crew of 5 men using standard construction equipment will average approximately 75m2 of completed wall per day. VSoL is also available in full height panels for quicker construction.
