Slab on Grade

Post tensioned concrete slabs on grade have become an integral part of building large cost effective and durable floor slabs. Post tensioned concrete slabs on grade offer the building owner large areas up to 4000m2 in single pours and up to 10,000m2 in coupled jointed slabs. The lack of joints reduces the ongoing maintenance issues associated with traditional saw cut concrete floors. Post tensioned slabs also have the ability to be thinner and carry greater loads than standard reinforced floors.

Post tensioned slabs work by applying an axial compression to the concrete in both directions effectively counteracting the tensile forces produced by shrinkage, temperature and applied loads.
